O.K.M. Gabi Shai's INNOVATIVE HOLISTIC TRAINING METHODOLOGY
FOR A SAFER AND BETTER LIFE
OKM Family , led by Gabriel (Gabi) Shai, retired officer of the Isrelí Security Agency, is composed by a multinational staff expert in Krav Maga, security and crime prevention. The staff possesses a wide professional and didactic experience who, together, raise OKM training to a unique and unparalleled level of continuously renewed experiences, adapted to the changing situations.
Failure of the traditional security system in its confrontation with global terrorism and the continuous grouth of urban crime, encourages a conceptual change from a passive / reactive security system to a proactive security approach. This approach's main objective is to prevent criminal acts / violence by developing security awareness, improving operational capability and ensuring the early detection of an aggressor’s intentions.
Being members of the same professional group, under the leadership of Gabi Shai, instructors are active participants in various monthly professional activities (part of these distant), enabling them to their continued personal development, in turn, contributing to the system and other "family" with their personal experiences.
The development of OKM started in 1982, while Gabi Shai served as an instructor in the National Security and Combat Academy of the Israeli Security Agency, as a results of an operational failure. Failure that demonstrated (unfortunately) that the traditional methodology of operational training is not the right answer for the continuous change of the adversary's "Modus Operandi".
From 1982 until 1996 additional concepts and operational fundaments have been developed and successfully implemented into practice, such as the integration, in the same training session, between the various operational abilities, unarmed and armed combat skills. Integration that has led to very positive results in real situations.
